COEMIG Description

North Shore-LIJ’s North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Syosset Hospital, and Southside Hospital were awarded the designation of Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Surgical Review Corporation in 2012.  Currently, these institutions represent 3 of only 5 hospitals in New York State with this prestigious certification.  The COEMIG program is focused on improving the safety and quality of gynecologic patient care worldwide.   Additionally, the program is designed to expand patient awareness of – and access to – minimally invasive gynecologic procedures performed by surgeons and facilities that have demonstrated excellence in these advanced techniques
